A special Yud Beis/Yud Gimmel Tammuz Message to the Central "Lubavitch" Mosdos of Melbourne

Today we commemorate Yud Beis/Yud Gimmel Tammuz in the Hebrew Calendar. This day marks the day when a great miracle occurred and the leader of the Jewish people - the 6th Lubavitcher Rebbe - was liberated from Stalinist/ Soviet captivity and persecution.

One thing that always perplexed me about the story of the Rebbe's captivity under Stalin's regime, were the villains of the story - Nachmonson and Lulav. Not only were these 2 villains Jewish, they were products of a Chabad/Lubavitch education system and their parents and Grandparents were devoted disciples of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

I was always puzzled and troubled by this story - how could two men from a nice Jewish/Chassidishe home and upbringing turn into such villains and end up betraying the Rebbe and their own people?

I now want to take the opportunity to thank the modern day manifestations Nachmonson and Lulav - specifically the Yeshivah Centre and everyone who served on the CIVIL and YBR boards during the 2020-2022 period.

For the first time, you helped me understand how incomprehensible diabolical evil and betrayal could easily happen in 21st century Australia.

I will never forget how you (the modern day manifestations of Lulav and Nachmonson) did the dirty work on behalf of an evil regime. In the process you betrayed and sold your soul & sold out your own teachers and congregants - i.e. people who loyally & faithfully served your school and community for many decades. The teachers and congregants who you ended up betraying were not only loyal Chassidim, they were also the children of Holocaust survivors.
